Tennessee Counseling Association

Fall Report 2008

Middle Tennessee Counseling Association (MTCA)

The MTCA Executive Board met on August 19, 2008 to set goals for the year. Improving communication and outreach for members and raising attendance at local meetings were goals for 2008-09.

MTCA has transitioned toward an electronic newsletter for the last two years. In addition, the use of Evite has been implemented this year so that members could provide feedback regarding meetings and attendance. The goals of improved communication and outreach are being addressed through the use of Evite and the MTCA website. Both attendance and feedback have improved during September and November with these updates.

The MTCA executive board agreed to move our October meeting to November in an effort to increase student involvement in our chapter as we partnered with Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society of Vanderbilt University in offering a presentation with Dr. Susan Hammonds-White detailing the licensure requirements (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
