When asked
to be Technology Chair, my goals were to upgrade the website, add Members only section,
post information in a timely manner, research webhosting companies to try to get
a better price and be able to do more with the site. Last, but not least, I
wanted to make the Listserv relevant, professional, and make sure all members
knew about how to post.
So far I have
accomplished the following:

Upgraded the
website, and solicited and received your suggestions and ideas for changes
-
Posted information
in a timely manner, within 24 hours
Some things still to
be accomplished:

Members Only
section – this would make the voting process easier and anonymous. However our present webhost does not allow us that capability. The
webhost has to have database capabilities to make this work.

In our efforts
to find quality and cost effective support services, our Executive
Director, President, and I have identified and consulted with a company that would make
the aforementioned possible, and would also help to manage our registration process. We
could even have e-Commerce on our site where we could sell items we have
left over from Conferences or whatever else we wanted to sell.
