Technology Report

When asked to be Technology Chair, my goals were to upgrade the website, add Members only section, post information in a timely manner, research webhosting companies to try to get a better price and be able to do more with the site. Last, but not least, I wanted to make the Listserv relevant, professional, and make sure all members knew about how to post.

So far I have accomplished the following:

• Upgraded the website, and solicited and received your suggestions and ideas for changes
• Posted information in a timely manner, within 24 hours
• Still working on webhosting issue and adding Members Only section
• In regard to the Listserv, I have rejected a few submitted items that appeared to as a personal nature. In these cases I sent reason to the one who posted and if I had an e-mail address I sent the post to the individual it was intended for

Some things still to be accomplished:

• Members Only section – this would make the voting process easier and anonymous. However our present webhost does not allow us that capability. The webhost has to have database capabilities to make this work.
• In our efforts to find quality and cost effective support services, our Executive Director, President, and I have identified and consulted with a company that would make the aforementioned possible, and would also help to manage our registration process. We could even have e-Commerce on our site where we could sell items we have left over from Conferences or whatever else we wanted to sell.
• Job Opening postings on the website is another service I would like to see available to members
• I am also committed to continuing to be available to all members regarding use of the Listserv
