Periodic messages regarding legislative concerns surrounding school counselors are forwarded to TCA Listserv members

A workshop session entitled “Where do school counselors fit into the educational puzzle” will be presented at the conference on Tuesday November 23 at 9:40. Current issues facing school counselors in Tennessee is the focus of this session. Specifically, school counselors are concerned about the: 1) evaluation procedures that are currently being implemented for educators, and, 2) the lack of representation at the Department of Education since the former director of school counseling left the position. Panel members have received several questions to consider which were posted on the TCA Listserv with a request for members to include additional questions that they would like to see addressed.

The intended outcome of this session is to develop a resolution to be considered by TCA and TSCA and forwarded to TEA and the Tennessee Department of Education.
