The Lookout
Counseling
Association had
an exciting year
with two main
events. In
September we
hosted the
Chattanooga and
Local Area
Schools College
Fair. We
collaborated
with the
National Guard
and the
Chattanooga
Chamber of
Commerce for a
very succesful
event. Over 80
colleges
attended as well
as the majority
of high schools
in the area with
thousands of
students in
attendance. We
are proud to
offer this
opportunity to
Seniors in
Hamilton County
and the
surrounding
areas.
We also
continued the
tradition of the
Lookout
Counseling
Association
Scholorship
program
procviding
scholorships to
6 deserving
students in our
region. An
exciting change
we made to the
scholarship
program was
adding
scholarships at
the graduate
level for
counseling. We
awarded over
$5,000 in
scholarships and
it is a joy to
be able to
provide students
with these
opportunities
and we invited
all scholarships
recipients to
become active
members of the
Lookout
Counseling
Association.
We also had an
end of the year
banquet at
Jefferson's in
Chattanooga. It
was a relexing,
enjoyable time
spent
networking,
collaborating
and sharing!
One of the goals
of the banquet
was to talk to
members about
what they would
like from the
Lookout
Counseling
Association and
ways to grow
membership,
maintain
membership and
better suite the
needs of
members. We had
some great round
table
conversations.
At LDC this year
leadership was
able to talk
with other
chapters and
take some ideas
from other
regions which we
will put in
place in our
chapter. We
believe as a
leadership team
we can grow our
membership in
the following
year by 33%, add
a community /
mental health
representative
to the
leadership board
and have four
successful
events.
We also look
forward to
attendance at
the Tennesse
Counseling
Association
coference
Memphis!!!!
