Newsletter Report
Submitted by Rob Shelsky
We published 3 newsletters this year. I apologize for the delay of the last newsletter; we are still working out the kinks of publishing in a timely fashion. I appreciate the promptness of submissions by the deadline.
I am still working on securing advertisers for our newsletters. I am looking to change the format of the newsletter. One of the objectives of the Strategic Plan was to modify the newsletter to be more news worthy and of greater interest to counselors, as opposed to chapter/division reporting. For example, LCA submitted an article regarding loan forgiveness for school counselors and Randy McPherson’s article about NBCC test preparation. Also, please feel free to continue to submit calendar items and/or “great events.”
I will bring up at the board meeting the notion of publishing some of our newsletters on-line. The newsletter dissemination will be timelier and more accessible to a greater audience, as well as more cost effective.
Year –end Newsletter submissions are due December 31, 2007. Please submit to me directly at robertshelsky@comcast.net . This newsletter will include color pictures, so feel free to submit yours from conference or local chapter/division activities. I am looking for a first-timer’s perspective article on conference. Please encourage your members to submit interest items, what they liked, “sound bites,” etc.
Respectfully submitted,
Rob Shelsky
