As a state branch of the American Counseling Association, TCA is committed to providing the most economical conference encompassing professional development, networking, and fun.  The TCA’s 60th Annual Conference will be held November  (???), 2017 at (???   ).

The TASGW leadership is committed to the continued pursuit of bringing national leaders in group work for the benefit of our membership at TCA conferences.

The mission of the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling of Tennessee (ALGBTIC-TN) is to enhance the skills and knowledge of counselors through professional development to help LGBT clients in school and mental health settings and educate society about LGBT issues so that society can become more accepting and treat LGBT people as humans.

Our Purpose

The purpose of ALGBTIC-TN is three-fold: to promote the counseling profession and maintain members that accept and respect LGBT youth and adult clients and to educate current and new counselors about the current issues of LGBT youth and adults so that they can advocate for and counsel them effectively.

All meetings will be held at Outback Steakhouse (330 N. Peters Road) except for the SMCA One-Day Conference, which will be held at Carson Newman University.

If you want to RSVP to a meeting or join our email list, please email SMCAOfficers@gmail.com.

Also, to Knox County employees, our meetings are on ERO and you will need to register if you would like in-service credit. Please note that it is only for the speaker portion of the meeting. If you need a CEU, there will be a place for you to indicate that upon signing in for the meeting and you will be sent a certificate via email.
