Do you know of a student whom you would like to nominate for the Courtland C. Lee Multicultural Excellence Scholarship Award or the Glen E. Hubele National Graduate Student Award? Did you know that the Arthur A. Hitchcock Distinguished Professional Service Award honors service by an ACA member at the local, state, or national level in promoting the well-being of the counseling profession, and the Thomas J. Sweeney Award for Visionary Leadership and Advocacy which is presented to a professional counselor or counselor educator in recognition of career contributions to the counseling profession through leadership and advocacy. And there are several research and humanitarian awards such as the ACA Research Award, and the Dr. Judy Lewis Counselors for Social Justice Award, respectively. And how about the Samuel T. Gladding Unsung Heroes Award which recognizes a professional counselor who has made a significant contribution providing direct services to students or clients. And there are more awards to consider which can provide our membership for opportunities for national recognition.
There has never been any doubt that the membership of TCA are dedicated to their profession and committed to the service of others. Year after year, there have been members and leaders with such exemplary dedication that our membership should not let their efforts go unnoticed. Even new professionals and student members are distinguishing themselves and making a difference in TCA. Let’s put forth effort on their behalf and nominate them for ACA National Awards. What a fantastic experience it would be for TCA membership to be honored with an ACA National Award in the home state next year!
